Deliberate violations of generally accepted accounting principles in the recording or reporting of accounting and financial transactions. (Examples include: misstatement of revenues, expenses or assets, wrongful transactions, and serious internal control weaknesses.)
A situation in which an employee of Playa Grande or a family member of an employee has a financial interest or non-financial interest that may compromise, or provide the incentive to compromise, the behavior in the conduct of the employee’s (1) duties at the Company, (2) influence on decisions that the Company may take, or (3) influence over his or her associates outside the Company. A conflict of interest may be real, potential, or perceived.
The act of stealing; taking and removing property or assets of Playa Grande. (Examples include misappropriation of cash, taking Company assets.)
The intentional misrepresentation or concealment of information in order to deceive, mislead, or acquire something of value. Fraud is an intentional deception perpetrated to secure an unfair gain. (Examples include: Violation of Policy, Sabotage)
Improper Giving or Receiving of Gifts
The giving, receiving or solicitation of items which could be reasonably interpreted as an effort to influence a business relationship or decision; items given, received or solicited for the benefit of a Playa Grande employee or an employee’s family or friends; items given, received or solicited during or in connection with contract negotiations; the acceptance of cash, checks, money orders, vouchers, gift certificates, loans, products or services.
Improper Supplier or Contractor Activity
Supplier or contractor activity in violation of Playa Grande’s policies and procedures; improper supplier or contractor selection based on personal gain, improper negotiation or diversion of contract awards.
Falsification of Contracts, Reports or Records
Falsification of Company records consists of altering, fabricating, falsifying, or forging all or part of any document, contract, resume or record for the purpose of gaining an advantage, or misrepresenting the value of the document, contract or record. (Examples include: vendor contracts, invoices and purchase orders.)
Improper or unauthorized use of Playa Grande’s resources and technologies for personal gain. Includes use of purchasing contracts/vendor relations for personal purchases – even if intended or actual reimbursement occurs.
Other matters of concern not specifically outlined above.
